Start early in the morning from Delhi and drive to Govardhan, a journey of about 3.5 hours. Upon arrival, visit the sacred Govardhan Hill, known for the legend where Lord Krishna lifted the hill to protect his devotees from torrential rain. Begin the Govardhan Parikrama, a 21-kilometer circumambulation of the hill. You can either walk or drive around the hill, making stops at important sites like Daan Ghati, Kusum Sarovar, and Radha Kund. Spend the evening by the tranquil Radha Kund and Shyam Kund, two holy ponds associated with Lord Krishna and Radha. Stay overnight in Govardhan.
After breakfast, travel to Barsana, approximately 1.5 hours away. Here, visit the famous Radha Rani Temple, situated on the Bhanugarh Hill, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Barsana is Radha’s birthplace and holds significant cultural importance, especially during Holi when the famous Lathmar Holi takes place. After exploring Barsana, head to Nandgaon, about 30 minutes from Barsana. In Nandgaon, visit Nand Bhawan, the residence of Lord Krishna’s foster father, Nand Baba, and mother, Yashoda. You can also visit Pan Sarovar, a beautiful water reservoir where Krishna is believed to have played as a child. Return to Govardhan by evening for rest and overnight stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed morning in Govardhan. You may revisit key spots like Mansi Ganga, a sacred lake created by Lord Krishna’s divine wish. After a peaceful morning, begin your journey back to Delhi, arriving in the late evening.
